  5.                          *PLEASE NOTICE*
  6.  
  7. This script is formatted for 80-columns. DO NOT use Aladdin's
  8. editor! It will reformat the script and make unusable. If you need
  9. to edit the script, any ASCII editor will do. If you don't have
  10. one, I suggest either QEDIT or VDE. QEDIT is $47 shareware. VDE is
  11. free for personal use with a $30 optional registration. Look for
  12. either QEDIT21A.xxx or VDE161.xxx, where "xxx" is the archive
  13. format.

  15. INSTALLATION:
  16.  
  17.  1) Copy the file SMMENU.SCR into the same directory as Aladdin.
  18.  
  19.  2) From the Aladdin main menu press F5.  This brings up the
  20.     Aladdin user configuration page.
  21.  
  22.  3) Change the name of the default script file to SMMENU.SCR, then
  23.     press ESCAPE to save the configuration. Script Main Menu will
  24.     appear as script 3 in the User Scripts menu box.
  25.  
  26. The script is set-up to save all files to DATA\ directory off from
  27. the directory where Aladdin is located. Example: If Aladdin files
  28. are in C:\ALADDIN\, files will be saved to C:\ALADDIN\DATA\. The
  29. subdirectory DATA must exsist prior to running the script or
  30. Aladdin will exit to DOS. If you wish to save the files to
  31. another location, use an editor and setstring 9 to the
  32. [drive:][path\].

  34. If you do a text search for  <===  you will find all the the things
  35. which should/could be changed.

  124. Before you can use AutoVantage Online or Comp-U-Store OnLine, you
  125. will need membership numbers. One way to optain a trial membership
  126. is to run the script. When you are prompted to enter a membership
  127. number the third time, type ENROLL. It will then give sign-up
  128. information.

  130. Before you can use Dow Jones News/Retrieval, you need to
  131. initialized your account for access to Dow Jones News/Retrieval
  132. (see Option 3 - Initialize News/Retrieval access - on Page 260 to
  133. initialize your account). Once initialized you can begin using the
  134. service immediately.

  136. Before you can use VESTOR, you need to complete the free sign-up.
  137. To use To sign up, select item 3 from the VESTOR menu (Page 785).
  138. You will be prompted for some information about yourself and a
  139. credit card number.
  140.  
  141. Prior to using the Send GEnie Mail to FAX option, you may want to
  142. enter your 5 most frequently used FAX addresses.
  143.  
  144. When running Automated options, the script will automatical get
  145. Port information. This information is useful when you're having
  146. problems online. GEnie Client Services and Feedback will often ask
  147. for PORT information when you report problems.

  149. If you want to use the "Retrieve Closing Quotes" option, you need
  150. to enter you ticker symbols into the script.

  152. To use the "Weather Forcast/Selected City" option, you need to
  153. enter the city code for the city you want.
